Link webshop/website to Facebook
Facebook is one of the most visited sites on the Internet. If you would like to link you webshop / website to Facebook, first of all you need to have your own profile on www.facebook.com. In case you don't have it already, sign up at www.facebook.com and directly from your profile, create your own facebook page.
Your site can be linked to social networks in the following ways:
- 1. RECOMMENDED - insert Facebook icon linked to Facebook page
- sign in into ClickEshop administrator and by clicking [Content management] you will get to whole site administration
- click on the place where you would like to insert a Facebook icon/image
- click "Insert / edit image" (icon in the shape of the mountains) to insert the Facebook image directly into webshop/website
- click on the image and then click icon "Insert / edit link" (the icon in the shape of the chains)
- system opens a small window where in the URL row, enter the URL of your Facebook page which will be opened after clicking a hyperlink (URL is a website's full web address which displays in internet browser's address bar)
- press [Ok]
- to confirm changes it is needed to click button [Save]
- 2. insert HTML code
- if you have already created your own Facebook page, please follow the steps bellow:
- get the HTML code from the following URL link (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button/) by pressing the button [Get Code]
- set all parameters correctly, especially width of the facebook frame that should not exceed 180px (it should be inserted into information panel)
- generated HTML Facebook code copy and paste into ClickEshop administrator in [Content management] as follows:
- click on the place where you would like to insert an image
- in the toolbar, click [Tools] - [Source Code]
- insert the copied HTML code in the table at the end of the text
- click button [Ok]
- to confirm changes it is needed to click button [Save]
- if everything is set correctly, Facebook box appears on your site
Using HTML code to link other systems might cause slow page loading, whereas each time while loading it has to contact another source, that can be placed on the opposite side of the planet. Nowadays social networks mean a big optimization problem because its overloading and contecting to a quantity of websites in real time, often result in a significant delay in the loading of your site.
Such interconnecting components are recommended to insert at the page footer or consider their use at all.
